1/7/2023 0 Comments Syphon input for modul8Would love to see some creative uses of it!Īpple-torrent, your free Mac App Store. So if you guys wanna get into algorithms I'm definitely down to share knowledge and how it's made. I've also learned a lot over the years about how to make things audio reactive, and how to create generative art by using OpenGL fragment shaders. You can if you're interested in playing around with it. The whole idea is to breathe some life into the show by tying it to the music as it happens, and giving the VJ room to improvise and actually play the visuals like an instrument. The creators of the scenes also define a unique set of controls for each scene, that you can MIDI map to control live. It pipes those variables over for use in 'Scenes', made by creative coders in GLSL. Basically, it processes audio in real time using an engine we wrote from scratch. It's easier to show what it does than tell, so check out this. I've been hacking away at this for two years now, writing audio algorithms, grappling with OpenGL, and diving into the world of generative art. WHAT’S NEW Version 2.9.2: Release notes were unavailable when this listing was updated. Created by professional VJs and developped by real-time imaging specialists, all coming from the video game industry, Modul8 offers a state-of-the-art user interface combined with very high performance. It has been designed for VJs and live performers. Size: 49.10 MB Modul8 is designed for real-time video mixing and compositing. Still hoping someone can figure out how to make the syphon work properly in 0.7.Description Modul8 2.9.2 – Real-time video mixing and compositing. Will post some more since there's a limit in the number of characters i can type in this comment window. I notice that in any layer i create using the Text tool it has an underlying black mask background that is similar to the quad display i mentioned in my previous comment. (Because syphon is not functioning properly, the image or movie in the layer is also in a quad format.)Ĥ. Scaling the picture/movie background will give you an option to alter the collisions, either with the scene or with the layer you just altered. You can then scale, move, rotate the background in the Layer Geometry in Scene Options or click on the scene and use your trackpad. You can drag png, jpeg, movie files into the layers thru the “Scene” items in “Tools” to have a textured or movie background. But for version 0.7.1, you’ll get a quad display. Syphon can be activated by clicking “use FBO”. of pixels/objects of the current layer.ģ. You can only draw up to 99,999 particles. But when I deactivated the Map Wacom to current layer item, everything went well.Ģ. (At first anything I draw with pen or particle tool do not show up in the render window or the drawings are pulled by gravity on the left border of the render window. Activate and deactivate "Map Wacom to current layer” item if you are not using wacom. I'd also like to share some of my observations:ġ. i was at a lost till i saw the tutorials. particlep, your tutorials are really a great starting point for me to understand emotion. I hope someone can help me figure out how to make syphon work with eMotion 0.7.1 66169f-syphon-debug-checked.tiff Syphon to and from Madmapper, Modul8, and Isadora working perfectly. Syphon Status: working, no need to enable anything in eMotion. Additional Info: When I tried using a demo version of Syphoner by SIGMAMIX, Syphoner reads the eMotion render window without FBO being activated. Syphon Status: to activate syphon, I have to click "use FBO" but syphon displays a quad image. eMotion: Latest 0.7.1 installed in a MacBook Pro Retina with OSX 10.9.2. On the other hand, I tried working with the old version of eMotion in an Imac and syphon works perfectly. Render window can now syphon but it displays a quad image instead. As suggested by m_theater, I've changed the resolution and activated the Frambuffer. My only problem now is how to properly syphon eMotion. Tuio, OSC, Wii functions work! Great Thanks to particlep for sharing the tutorials. I use Isadora for interactive projections for dance ballet shows.I discovered eMotion in this forum and followed tutorials of particlep.
